Dr. Cory Wowk is a sports medicine physician from Calgary, Alberta.. Dr. Wowk completed his medical studies at the University of Calgary. His sports medicine and injury management experiences include over 10 years of working directly with the orthopedic surgeons at the hospitals in Calgary (orthopedic resident extender) and 9 years in working as physician for the Calgary Fire Department where he manages many acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and challenges.
Previously, he received his first degree in education and taught junior high for two years before transitioning to medical school, where he uses his teaching skills in his practice. His team based highlights as physician include: Team physician 2017-18 Team Canada World Junior Men’s Hockey Team, Okotoks Dawgs 2017 baseball team, 2016 Hockey Canada Men’s World Championship Under 18 team and the 2014 Hockey Canada Men’s World Under 17 teams. He has worked with various other local teams in the past as well.
