David has been incredibly passionate about the hip for as long as he can remember. Although recently retired from clinical practice, he worked at the University of Calgary Sport Medicine Centre for more than 30 years. In addition to clinical care, he was also involved in numerous research studies and has published over 30 peer – reviewed research manuscripts in a variety of international medical and scientific journals. David still teaches his critically acclaimed hip course “Preserving the Active Hip” to other physio professionals across Canada, Scotland, Ireland, Portugal, Australia and USA.

David understands the importance of teamwork and throughout his career has been collaborating with hip surgeons, sport medicine physicians and other physiotherapists to develop the critical elements of the specialized rehabilitation program utilized by the Active Hip Centre. While no longer seeing patients, he still plays an active management and facilitatory role with the Active Hip Centre. Away from the office, David is an avid golfer, windsurfer and hockey player.
